Anyone who knows me well enough knows that I am a hugely patriotic Australian. I love my country. I am so privileged to be an Aussie and I don’t take that privilege lightly.
The other thing that most people know about me is that I love a good voice over performance. Artists such as Nick Tate (an Aussie) and the late Don La Fontaine set the bench mark for all voice over artists. Then you have actors with the great voices like Charlton Heston who narrated the opening scene in Armageddon or Morgan Freeman and his narration of The Shawshank Redemption and of course you have James Earl Jones. Not only was he the voice of Darth Vadar in the Star Wars films but he also did the opening narration of NBC’s coverage of the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games.
So two of my great loves, Australia and Voice Over Artists meet in this collision of sight and sound. It leaves me tingling all over every time I watch it. I hope it does you too.
