Dear Avid Reader,

Recently I passed a little milestone here at the blog about nothing.  My little blog had it’s 3,000th view.  That amazes me like you wouldn’t believe.  I didn’t have any expectations when I started the blog.  In fact, I was sure that it would get bugger all interest out there and that it would be my family that read it and that is all.  How wrong was I!  While my family are a small portion of people that read it, I have a great bunch of readers from all around this small, blue planet of ours.

Thanks to places like Twitter and Facebook I am able to reach out and let you know when something new is posted or if you are like some, you can register your email address and be notified when new posts are put up.  See the bottom of this page for the area to do this.

The blog was started as a way for me to get my writing creative juices flowing.  I have a book that I want to write but was not sure if I had the skill to write it.  You can read about that here in one of my first entry’s.  I’m still not sure that I have the skill to write it but I think I am close to getting it started and well, we’ll just see what happens with the #thingIamwriting.

I really appreciate the fact that you are reading this short note and if you are a regular reader or have only read one of other entry, then thank you for doing that.  Of course I love getting comments.  Perhaps that is the narcissist in me.  I always reply back as another way of me saying “hey I saw your comment and just wanted to say thanks and acknowledge that by replying”.  Some other blogs I read, the bloggers don’t always reply so I’m not sure what the rules are, so for now I will continue to reply to your comments.  I just wish you would leave a few more with some feedback.  Tell me if you liked it, or not.  Tell me if you hated it, or not.  Tell me something.  Only with feedback will I improve.  If you don’t wish to leave feedback then you can always ‘rate it’ by clicking on one of the 5 stars at the bottom of the post.  I can take the harsh criticism.  I have to if I am to improve!

Have I improved?  It’s hard to say.  In the 9 months I have been blogging I have placed around 80 posts with approx half of these actual written entry’s with the rest made up of video links and polls.  Is my last post better than my first?  Hard to say.  You are the judge of that.  It’s like asking me which one of my children do I love the most.  I love all of my posts but I have to say my favourite is the blog about the day Lara was born.  You can see that here if you have’t read it yet.  Is it better written than other posts?  Dunno.  You tell me.

If you like my entry’s and think they are entertaining or thought provoking then please share it using the share buttons at the bottom of each post.

Finally, if there is something you would like me to explore through my blog about nothing, then drop me a line and I’ll see if I can nut something out for you.  Or if you are a writer yourself and want to be a guest blogger on my site, then I would love to showcase your skills here as well.  If you would like me to contribute to your site, which I have just had my first guest blogging post overseas, let me know as well.

It’s been a blast so far.

Thanks for reading.

Jack

  1. Congratulations, Jack! Isn’t it exciting to have people read what you write? I never would have thought blogging would be so rewarding. Keep it up. molly

Hey Molly. It is very exciting. What I sometimes wonder as well is how people even come across my blog. The internet really does make the world a very small place. Can I ask how you came across mine?

I’ve just clicked on yours. Matt Lauer’s pores in HD hey! Gotta love a great flat screen TV. I look forward to reading more.

      Jack
